These super decadent, moist, and rich paleo triple chocolate donuts are a cacao dream come true. Super simple recipe, packed with lots of chocolate and easy on the eyes. Perfect recipe for a weekend treat.
As a paleo cook I prefer my donuts baked and so far Ive been using a steel donut pan. However living in high altitude I find that my baked goods tend to stick to the pan even when greasing with coconut oil. I’m glad to say I was able to really up my donut game this last week after I decided to invest in this new silicon donut baking pan. They allow me to easily remove the donuts and on top of that, it turns out the new molds create a smaller hole in the middle of the donut. If you ask me, these baked triple chocolate donuts look like the real deal 🙂
How to make the perfect paleo triple chocolate Donut:
- Use a proper donut pan. I have both a non-stick and now the silicon donut pan. I do prefer the silicon version now just because of the high altitude. Either option should work just fine at sea level.
- For the triple chocolate donut I incorporated 1/3 cup of raw cacao powder and stevia sweetened chocolate chips into the batter. Plus I glazed the donuts with some extra melted chocolate. If you love chocolate, you will love these.
- To fill the donut pan with the batter, either use a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a small hole cut into it. I promise it will make things easier. Make sure to fill the molds 3/4 full to ensure that they have room to rise perfectly.
