These are definitely the fluffiest, most delightful donut holes I’ve ever baked up. These scrumptious little healthy pumpkin bites are so light and soft, so incredibly easy to make, and perfect for saving some calories for this years Thanksgiving feast.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, do you know what you’re going to make for dessert? Let me help you out. I usually like to come up with something new and fun every year so this year I thought of these healthy paleo, grain-free, refined sugar-free pumpkin donut holes. I’d take these over any classic thanksgiving dessert. They are light and fluffy and will satisfy your craving in one single bite…or start you on a donut hole binge :p
Pumpkin themed desserts (or any other classic thanksgiving dessert for that matter) weren’t really a huge thing in Austria. I always associated pumpkins with savory dishes like soups, an apparently shocking fact that blew my husbands mind when I told him. Despite my inexperience in the field, I’ve grown a bit fond of the flavor and hope I can pique your interest with these delicious donut holes. After enjoying a wholesome and huge thanksgiving feast, these make for a perfect, light dessert item. I usually skip desserts after eating too much of the turkey, but this year, I think I’ll be able to munch on these babies 😛
Have I mentioned, this recipe couldn’t be any simpler? You just need to throw all the ingredients into a food processor for a few seconds and you’ve got yourself a perfect donut batter. We can all agree that is much easier than preparing a classic fried donut batter. I promise, you’re not going to miss the fried alternatives…you’ll be too busy munching on these!
2 great hacks to make the perfect baked donut holes
- if you want to create the perfect donut hole shape I suggest you get yourself this donut hole pan. Silicone or non-stick works. If you don’t have any of these at home but want to make these babies asap ( I don’t blame ya 😉 a mini muffin tin or cake pop mold will do as well.
- Since these donut holes aren’t fried you won’t be able to roll them in sugar the usual way. To achieve an even sugar coating you’ll want to use coconut oil spray. I am not sure what people usually use coconut oil spray for but I was thankful for it when I made these guys. 🙂
