How to prepare this festive beverage:
In a small saucepan add cashew milk, maple syrup, and cacao powder. Heat over medium heat and whisk well. I used dairy-free milk for this recipe but if you are a fan of dairy, that works just as well.
Add red wine, stir and simmer for 5 minutes over low-medium.
For this recipe I opted for a 2021 Oregan Pinot Noir, by Erath Winery.
The warm growing season offers decadent aromas of boysenberry and dark cherry with layers of jasmine and fresh herbs helping to maintain freshness. An Oregon icon, this wine achieves the perfect balance between delicate and playful. The perfect wine to accompany a glass of hot chocolate. Such a fun but elegant treat.
Pour into glass and top with whipped coconut cream or whipped cream. Sprinkle with shaved chocolate and ENJOY!
This recipe was created in a paid partnership with Erath Wines.
