Indulgent, so smooth and decadently dark, these incredible red wine dark chocolate truffles are the perfect quick dessert for adults or an easy homemade gift idea for your loved ones. Who doesn’t love red wine and chocolate, am I right? Such a great flavor combo.
How to prepare these decadent red wine truffles:
In a small saucepan heat coconut milk over low-medium heat until coconut milk is warm/hot. In a bowl add chocolate chips, melted coconut oil, and maple syrup. Pour coconut milk into the bowl and quickly stir until chocolate has fully melted.
Add red wine and stir until fully combined.Try not to eat the whole bowl. It’s incredibly delicious.
For this recipe I opted for a 2019 Reserve Collection Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley by Erath Winery.
Wafts of black cherry and dark ripe plum mingle with meaty savory notes and a touch of Earl Grey tea. The mouth is rich and enveloping, offering blackberry pie, fig and pomegranate. The finish is smooth and balanced—the perfect wine for a chocolate dessert.
Pour chocolate truffle mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish and let sit in the refrigerator for about 2-3 hours. ENJOY!
Once the chocolate has hardened, scoop out a bsp of chocolate mixture and shape into little balls using your hands.
Roll into cacao powder and repeat until chocolate wine mixture is gone.
Serve and store in an airtight container for up to one week.
This recipe was created in a paid partnership with Erath Wines.
